Big List of Updates!!!

Prayer Request: For perseverance and strength as Rett starts his new job this week!

Hi Everyone! It has been a few weeks since our last post and quite a few things have happened!

Missions Update:

1. We were able to Skype with TEAM Japan and the couple who we will be travelling alongside while we are overseas. We got to hear about all the cool ministries and people who are at work in Japan, and we are very excited to meet everyone in person.

2. We have our dates: September 14th through 30th.

3. We have a loose plan about what we will be doing while we are in Japan:

   1. Meet with TEAM administrators

   2. Meet with a Christian Academy in Tokyo for Homeschool / Using the local public-school advice

   3. Visit ministries in Tokyo

   4. Spend a few days at the missionary retreat center observing how it operates (we are hoping to work here eventually)

   5. Visit a few rural church plants

   6. Meet with the long-term mission coordinator

4. We should be official soon! Yay!

5. Long-term missions will require some seminary courses. We are planning to take one class/ semester while working starting this Spring. I have my eye on Dallas Theological Seminary, but things could change.

Family Updates:

1. Rett got the job! He has orientation on Monday, and we are excited and nervous about this new life transition.

2. The kids will be hanging out with a family friend Monday – Thursday starting this week. They are also excited and nervous about this transition.

3. Kim is mostly, but not quite caught up on paperwork! (I am very relieved about this)

4. We figured out that our plants were looking burnt because of a Spider Mite infestation… Fortunately, the insecticide recommended by a local garden center seems to be working, and the plants are looking much healthier now.

Whew, that was a lot!
