Prayer Request: That we would have some extra rest this week without neglecting our responsibilities.

This week we got to video-call the “missions coach” who we are working with about going to Japan! (For some clarity: we haven’t been fully approved of by the missions organization yet, so though we are spending a lot of time planning with them at the moment, we do not yet have their organization’s official seal of approval.) We did find out that, if all goes well, we should expect to be OK’ed by June, at which point we will be able to hand out stuff with their organization’s name on it. (Small details.) More importantly, we found out that fundraising should begin in July (even though God has already provided for the trip!). At that point, we will likely be fundraising for babysitting or the next trip.

On a more exciting note: the checks for our passports have cleared! This means the forms and expired passport (mine) made it to their destinations! Last week I was feeling a bit uncomfortable about the whole passport application stuff as we had some snags. So, at Bible Study, my prayer request was for our passports to be approved and to get back to us quickly. The fact that the U.S. Treasury accepted our checks makes me feel reassured.

Kid’s Space: CC had her first haircut on May 3rd (I finally gave her bangs). And Ryan is enjoying his last week of morning pre-school before a small break. The kids have been a bit (understatement) antsy this week due to the rapidly changing weather. In spite of this, they have still been able to enjoy lots of coloring and some VeggieTales. I think their highlight for the week was getting to say hi to our mission’s coordinator over the computer, they were pretty excited about hearing an unfamiliar voice in the house!
