“Skyping”

Prayer Request: For God to move in Rett’s job search, and give us wisdom to make all related decisions with God at the center.

Yay! We are moving forward with our missions applications again this week! We get to skype with the “Onboarding Coordinator” for TEAM in Japan today, and have been working on filling out background check applications and medical questioners. (I know, forms are very exciting.) As we have been emailing about all this, I have been reminded about how weird it is to communicate with another person when there is a 14 hour time difference. Business hours in Japan are around dinner time for us, so we must be flexible in our communication or it takes 1-2 days to send and receive a message. Fortunately, it is not as inconvenient as I remembered. For some reason when I was in Japan I often found myself calling people at 6am in the morning (Tokyo Time)… it must have had something to do with college class schedules, but I am very glad that we don’t have to do that anymore. 😉

Rett had a very positive interview this week, and we are hoping that this job opportunity will work out. Please pray about this if you have time, as Rett “needs” a job, but more importantly, he needs a job that will allow him to continue to fulfill his responsibilities at our church! (And to his family.) Aside from this, we have been enjoying the nice weather, moving some of our friends into their new place in Saint Peter, and getting some yard work done. Because of a bit of travelling recently, Sunday will also be the first time this month we have been able to attend our local church! I feel like it has been way too long, and am looking forward to seeing everyone. 😊

Kid’s Space: Ryan started summer school again this week. He has really been enjoying getting to see some of his classmates and hang out with some fun adults who aren’t Mom or Dad. CC is getting more independent everyday: she is starting to have very strong opinions about what clothes she wears, and unfortunately this means that she is wearing long-sleeved shirts and pants in June…
