Prayer Request: That we would be content with what we have and generous with what God has given us.
“For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if he has enough to complete it?” Luke 14:28
In Luke 14:25-33 Jesus talks about the sacrifices involved in being his disciple. In short, it says if you want to follow Jesus, you should be ready to give up possessions, relationships, and even your own life.[1] That’s pretty sobering for me and probably most of you too. When God calls us, he calls us to good things, but they are often hard at the same time. When Rett and I first felt God calling us to serve in ministry, we knew there were costs, but we know that it will be more than worth it.[2]
“The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.” Matthew 13:44

We have been working overtime the past few months to keep all of the bills paid. Now our time deficit is catching up with us.
Our lives are full of great things!
-Full[+]-time Jobs
-Two adorable, creative, and high energy kids under school-age
-Master’s Classes (Currently a bit behind, but all “A”s for now)
-Rett serves on the Elder Board at our Church, a Children’s Leader at BSF, and volunteers regularly in the Children’s Program at Church.
-Kim Manages our Church’s Website and Calendar, assists in managing a Cooperative Babysitting program, and helps with volunteer coordinating and planning at our church when she can.
While we could ask for help doing laundry and grocery shopping, or for someone to read our textbooks for us. 😉 Not working overtime would go a long way! (Especially if Kim could work part-time, so she wouldn’t have to work on Saturdays and Sundays.)

Thanks for valuing our work!
