I am hoping to post regular (monthly) updates of our biggest prayer needs and how God has answered our prayers since the last update. We hope this new section will be encouraging and helpful. Feel free to comment with your own prayer requests or email them to us privately.
Thanks for Reading!
Answered Prayers

Direction
In November, Rett and I felt very unsure about our plans for the next few months. It felt like there was a great vacuum before us, and we spent time praying to use the time wisely. Since then much has changed and we seem to have a clear path laid out before us. Unexpectedly, this path includes moving much sooner than we previously expected. We still aren’t entirely sure of the details, but God seems to be giving our family joy as we move towards this transition.

Healing/ Protection/ Provision
Though we have been around a number of sick friends and family members, we have been blessed to avoid getting sick ourselves!
We are also thankful for car-accident free travel (even during an unexpected ice/sleet-storm) and for the perseverance of our furnace.
Our finances have also, often featured in our prayers, and after nearly 9 months of prayer (and month-to-month financial decisions) we finally feel like we can breath a slight sigh of relief as we finally know where our tuition and living expenses are coming from for the next 6 months!

Mental Endurance
School has been both a challenge and a blessing. Greatfully, rather than becoming burnt out in our God has strengthed us to find them all the more do-able and interesting. We hope to be sharing some of the projects we have worked on as a result of these classes, so that you can see some of the product of seminary.
Attributes of God
Part of the time we spend in prayer is spent reflecting on the attributes of God. These are some of God’s attributes we have been reflecting on in the last few months.
Sovereignty [Psalm 115:3] Living & Active [Daniel 6:27] | Gracious [Psalm 145:8] Helper [Psalm 121:1-2] |
Greatest Prayer Request
One of the classes we just finished was on the doctrine of salvation. As we think (and study) about how people come to Christ, something new stood out to us: the Spirit is working in the lives of others, long before we arrive on the scene. So, our greatest prayer request is: that God would create a hunger in the people of Japan to know Christ and receive his gift of salvation.
