Thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement this past semester (and through all of our time at seminary!). We have been carried along by God's grace in this final leg of our degree programs and have been blessed to finish strong despite lots of writer's block, COVID complications, and unexpected changes. We have also been blessed to be able to do some fun things as a family and make more time for joy-giving creative activities. For one new creative activity, I had the opportunity to put together a small journal about our adventures this semester and I thought I would share it with you!
Best of Spring Semester 2022

Rett and I finished our internships this semester, which included a lot of work on our digital portfolios as a requirement of the program. You can check out the shameless self-promotion here: Rett's Portfolio & Kim's Portfolio (Contact me for access to password-protected sections).

As part of my internship, I had the opportunity to travel with my mentor and her husband overseas! It was such a blessing to work with this organization and the people they serve, and I hope to be able to work with them again in the future. If you are interested in hearing more about BEE World and what we did overseas, I would love to have a conversation with you! (and grab coffee if you are ever in town☕)

After COVID, we realized we had gotten too in the habit of hanging out in our apartment and never going outside, so we decided to be more intentional about changing that this semester. Where we live, we have the privilege to enjoy a number of beautiful parks, 2 zoos, and many museums available to visit, so we have been working at taking advantage of these resources as much as we can and it has been a wonderful and much-needed change for all of us (especially the kids).

Another much-needed change we made this semester was finding extra-curricular activities for the kids. After much debate, we landed on music! (and found a fun place to take lessons). The kids are enjoying their lessons and the new skills they are picking up.
What could be better?

Making peace with changing and delayed plans has been hard and continues to be hard, but we continue to rest in the fact that God sees our struggles and that he has allowed what he has allowed for a reason. So, now that we are done with our seminary degree programs we are diving into this next season of getting our finances in order to be ready to serve overseas. Prayers are greatly appreciated for this as income has always been an area of difficulty for our family. 🙏
Favorite Things (of the semester)

This post just includes some of my favorite things this semester and our other family members enjoyed so many different things they couldn't decide! Maybe next month?
