Hi Everyone!

So… I’m supposed to be writing a paper right now, but I have some things on my mind, and I thought I would share them and ask for you to pray about them with us.

But first, an update:

If you read my last blog post “Struggling Vine, Good Fruit” you may have been aware that we were dealing with some financial stressors. Here is the update on that:

-Our bank-s (drawing attention to that “s” at the end), figured out that they had made a mistake, investigated themselves, and refunded all of the fees we were charged! This is a huge relief to me, and took a lot of stress off of our budget!

-Our loan was finalized and we are all set up for the next year!

-We reached our insurance deductible right before two emergency room visits and an upcoming surgery. So maybe the rest of the year will be smooth sailing as far as medical bills are concerned.

-Winter has come, and the garden is experiencing a parable of death and rebirth! Check back around Easter for more plant-related-analogies!

Prayer Requests:

-Relationships: That Rett and I would grow in maturity, patience, and compassion, and that the stresses of life would drive us to value and strengthen our relationship with each other and with the other wonderful people in our lives.

-Ryan and CC: Ryan and CC are enjoying school and life in general. Ryan is having a growth spurt in being responsible (which is bringing great joy to his mother), and CC is excelling in curiosity (we may have put a lock on one of our rooms in order to keep what is “off-limits” actually “off-limits”). We would ask that they feel loved and cared for during this busy season.

-School Work! Rett and I could use some prayer in relation to school work, particularly the five assignments we have due in the next few weeks (including two research papers). We would ask for prayer, especially, for mental clarity and focus.

-Decision Making: Rett and I have a number of decisions to make regarding what classes we take and when for seminary. Of course, one BIG choice is whether we are going to take Greek and Hebrew classes or not. There are a number of factors that we are considering on this choice, and we would be so thankful if you would join us in seeking God’s guidance on this!

-Job: My current job is temporary and at the beginning of 2019 I will either be looking for new employment (hopefully working with volunteers or web design for a non-profit) or purging our basement.

Thanks for Reading! Also, Rett and I would love to pray for you too! Send us a message or comment if you feel comfortable so we can bear each other’s burdens, even if it’s not in-person right now.
