Happy 2020!
We hope the end of 2019 was full of good things. For us, it brought an end to one VERY full semester, and a very eventful year. We learned a lot of new things and made some great memories in 2019, but we were happy to see the year come to a conclusion.
In the last few months of 2019:
Rett’s parents visited and helped fix some stuff on the RV. (Thank you!)
We enjoyed a low key Thanksgiving with my Mom at our New Apartment.
I baked at least 4 green bean casseroles (from scratch), and 0 pumpkin rolls (I’ll have to make up for that ).
Rett and I pushed a lot of our school work into November & December due to the move, but ended up finishing it all with a few hours to spare! (If you thought we had fallen off the face of the earth, this is why)
I got the flu right before finals week…
We got to attend Christmas Eve service at Dr. Swindoll’s church. We sang Christmas carols & got to listen to a great strings ensemble. Ryan and CC had fun too, especially because all the people sitting around us were very welcoming and seemed to like kids.
We started attending a new (closer) church and started to get settled in to another new routine.

Do we have any New Year’s resolutions? Hm, maybe just a list of ways we want to improve:
DAILY TIME IN THE BIBLE! Confession: We have never had a good long term habit of Bible reading. We love studying the Bible, but it mostly happens in big chunks with big chunks of time in between. It’s like trekking through the desert and filling up at the occasional watering hole/oasis… not ideal. BUT! I found One Year Bible Podcast (http://oneyearbiblepodcast.com) and Rett and I have been listening to it every morning after our alarm goes off. It is prefect for the ADHD brain that is great at listening in the morning, but not so good at staying awake while reading in the morning.
Avoid over committing. Last year had enough stress for two or three years. The plan for this year is to cultivate good habits of time management and set aside more time for our family to relax together.
Do more journaling/update the blog more often. I wrote this post from my phone! I’m going to try making some tiny posts from my phone to fill in the gap between larger blog posts in order to avoid data/story dumps every 3-4 months.
What are you and your family looking forward to in 2020? We’d love to hear about how we can be praying for you and about how God has been working in your life recently! Send us a message at kimndvorak@gmail.com or rettland.dvorak@gmail.com
